Project “Sports Facilities of KHMAO” was created as a tool for planning and preparation of local and international events. This will not only enhance the district attractiveness, but also the competition quality, and the proper time and financial costs for its organization.

The visual communication tool, made for business purposes, allows the customer easily navigate objects in the sports complex territory — create tours and video presentations, arrange billboards, staff, equipment, etc. This allows to demonstrate all Sports Facilities of KHMAO internationally.

About

The project of a 3D interactive demonstration system shows up five sports facilities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Region. The work under the project was implemented very carefully — a large number of intermediate-meeting discussions allowed the specialists of Next Space to develop a unique planning tool with all the requirements and wishes of the customer.

Today “UgraMegaSport” is the largest organizer of sporting and cultural events in Ugra. Each year in the Khanty-Mansiysk “UgraMegaSport” holds about 400 sports competitions for 52 types of sports — from city championships to world championships.

The main objective is to promote the physical culture, sport and healthy lifestyles, as well as coverage of the best achievements of Russian and world culture through the physical organization of highly athletic and concert events to raise moral and cultural standards of the citizens, and aesthetic education of the younger generation.

The main goal was to create the most convenient and easy-to-use application for staff, which work at the facilities and involved in the preparation of sporting events.

During the work process, all the customer needs were taken into account — created an intuitive interface, designed a tool for planning and placement of objects and personnel on the territory (including the “closed” organizational zones, accreditation areas, etc.), a large library of textures and objects (more than 700 objects and 600 different textures), a system of layers, different text tools, navigation map, also added function “observation point”, through which you can easily fix several provisions to view from any available space on the location and quickly navigate to them.
The work on the project took place in several stages. The first phase was the development and launch of interactive 3D-model of the Center of Winter Sports named by Phillipenko, where you can easily examine the interior and exterior of all the architectural objects in details and the surrounding area in the fly mode. Also implemented the animation of the Complex, which has four modes: training runs to the operation of specialized equipment, training, competition and awards ceremony. Project implementation period — 3 months.
The second and the third step are the creation and implementation of four additional sports facilities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Region — Ugra “UgraMegaSport.”

The project includes five sports facilities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Region.

  • Center of Winter Sports named by Philippenko — stadium international category in the classification of IBU (International Biathlon Union)
  • Entertainment center “Arena Ugra”
  • The Ice Palace, for 2,000-seat
  • The Outdoor stadium “Ugra-Athletics” 5,000 spectators
  • Ski resort “Pine Urman”

The interactive model allows users to navigate inside freely using walk/fly mode, explore the interiors, change daytime and season, obtain background information and plan upcoming events. Created functionality allows organizers and athletes advance to study sport routes, measure their length, and the press can assess in advance the camera angle of the facilities exist.

The project has become very ambitious — more than 100 experts were involved in development

Goals

  • Efficiently present the sports facilities of KHMAO on the Russian and international events and increase the attractiveness of the district as a whole;
  • Allow non-technical professionals to be involved into the planning of sports events;
  • Create a variety of visual materials for marketing and promotional purposes — screenshots, high-resolution images (hi-res), videos and more, using only one tool.
